Henderson wins at Upper Canada Cup: UC Cup Results

BROCKVILLE – After back-to-back second place finishes in Grade 7 Girls 3K cross-country running events leading up to the Upper Canada Cup, Seaway Spartan runner Lily Henderson won the championship race in her category. Henderson crossed the finish line with a time of 11:55.4 minutes. She was 29 seconds ahead of second place finisher Raine Maidment from Rideau Intermediate.

Kloe Lewis finished in third place in the race, with a time of 12:29.9 minutes and took fourth place in the event with a time of 12:54.57 minutes. Kyra Lewis finished 25th overall for the event; Vanessa Latulippe 59th; Kaela Feht 67th. The Grade 7 Girls team finished in 5th place overall for the level.

Olivia Mudde finished in 13th place in the Grade 8 Girls 3K event with a time of 13:32.6 minutes. Mackenzie Dumoulin finished in 43rd plac; Maeryn Gilmour 45th, Phoenix Pelhoes 46th; Gracie Fairbairn 56th; Shee Ann Hunter 60th; and Olivia Chafe 65th. The Grade 8 Girls team finished in sixth place overall for that level.

The Grade 7 Boys 3K event saw Wyatt Barkley have the top result for Seaway finishing 23rd overall for the event with a time of 12:20.2 minutes. Cam Shaver finished 27th; Cameron Stewart 34th; Monty Dejong 47th; Quade Mullin 66th; Alek Larocque 68th; Daran Tibben 70th; Cayden Murphy 71st; Aaron Cinnamon was 97th. The team finished in fifth place for that level.

Tyler Stewart finished in 15th place overall in the Grade 8 Boys 3K championship with a time of 11:30.7 minutes, one minute out of first place. Brodie Baker finished in 49th place; Ryley Ault 60th; Hunter Tyo 77th; and Issac Orendi 78th. The team finished in 7th place for that level.

Team event scores were calculated using the top four runners in the category.

Iroquois PS Upper Canada Cup results

BROCKVILLE – The Iroquois Public School Lions travelled to the Upper Canada Cup Cross-Country running championships October 19th with the school winning first overall as a team in the Grade 6 Boys 2.4K event.

The Grade 6 Boys team had three top-ten finishes in the race: Mason Hummel (3rd); Terrence Mudde (4th) and Rory Gilmour (7th). Combined with teammate Logan Tait (54th), the team took first place in the category.

In the Grade 5 Boys 2.4K, Ben Radley finished 4th overall; Dylan deBoer 103rd; Connor Thoms 113th; and Kaden Bradford 123rd. For the Grade 4 Boys 1.8K event, Kai Morrow finished 24th and Nic Carruthers 61st overall.

The Grade 6 Girls team finished fifth overall as a team at the event. Individual results: Sarah Stewart (15th); Kathryn Swerdfeger (28th); Cassie Hyderman-Sidel (58th); Shianne Johnston (89th); Abi Smail (94th); Peyton Singh (99th); and Kim Brooks (100th).

Emily Swerdfeger finished 16th overall in the Grade 5 Girls 2.4K event. In other results: Emma Morrow (28th); Jenna Whitteker (60th); Sierra Latulippe (69th); and Kamryn Larocque (108th). In the Grade 4 Girls 1.8K event, Kacey Croteau finished 22nd; Alyza Mullin (39th); Abby McCurdy (100th); and Alexis Walter (121st).

Morrisburg PS UC Cup Results

BROCKVILLE – Morrisburg Public School sent four athletes to compete at the 5th annual Upper Canada Cup Cross-Country racing championship October 19th in Brockville.

In the Grade Four Boys 1.8K event, Jordan Elliot finished 31st overall.

Lawson Rogers finished 99th in the Grade 5 Boys event, Aiden Seillier 116th;

Meanwhile in the Grade 4 Girls 1.8K event, Aurora Wilson finsihed 115th overall.
