The Morrisburg Jr. C Lions hosted the Papineauville Vikings at the Morrisburg arena October 15th losing 7-3 in a rough game by both sides.
The Vikings opened scoring late in the first period with a goal by Maxime Tremblay, 1-0 Vikings. Lions forward Jeremy DePonte answered back with one of his own in the last minute of the period, 1-1 at the end of the first.
The scoring gap opened up in the second with a power-play goal by Vikings forward Pascal Leblanc with 13 minutes left in the second, 2-1 Vikings.
Penalties were king in the period with 30 minutes of penalties handed out by the referee, with the Lions receiving 20. A fight between Lions forward Austin Coleman, and Vincent Tardif-Richard from the Vikings saw Coleman with a 10 minute penalty for inciting.
The Lions failed to capitalize on a power-play late in the second, with Tremblay netting the short-handed goal on a breakaway, 3-1 Vikings.
Tremblay completed his hat-trick for the night less than a minute later making it 4-1 after 40 minutes.
The Lions came within one in the third with goals by Zach Leblanc and Tyler Stockman making it 4-3 Vikings.
Penalties ruled again in the third, with Morrisburg picking up 28 minutes including Tanner Hummel and Jordan Smail with 10 minute misconduct penalties each late in the third.
Vikings forward Vincent Labrosse scored on goalie Eric Mantha, bringing it to 5-3. Leblanc netted his second and third of the evening for the Vikings late in the third, 7-3 Vikings. Vikings foward Francois Larose was thrown from the game with two minutes left on the clock, final score Papineauville Vikings 7, Morrisburg Lions 3.

St. Isidore Eagles 5
ST. ISIDORE – The Morrisburg Jr. C Lions visited the St. Isidore Eagles October 16 resulting in their first win of the season.
St. Isidore got the scoreboard half way through the first period with a power-play goal by Pier-Luc Viau, 1-0 Eagles.
Lions forward Josh DeSousa’s unassisted goal a minute later evened the score at 1-all.
Defenceman Ronnie Boots scored his second goal of the season on a Lions power-play with two minutes left in first, assisted by fellow defenceman Tanner Hummel. Hummel would add his first of the season in the back of the Eagles net in the final minute of the first on another Lions power-play, 3-1 Lions after 20 minutes.
Eric LaFleur scored on an Eagles power-play halfway through the second, 3-2 Lions. Lions forward Patrick Landry buried the puck with help from Jeremy DePonte, late in the second, 4-2 Lions.
Another Eagles power-play resulted in a goal by Francis Laviolette with three minutes left in the second, 4-3 Lions. One minute later Laundry lands his second of the night on a pass by Deponte, 5-3 Lions at the end of the second.
Forward Justin Laundrie scored his fourth of the season in the tenth minute of the third, unassisted, making it 6-3 Lions.
The Eagles attempted a come back, with goals by Jacob Belanger and Laviolette making it 6-5 Lions. With 14 seconds left, Zach
Leblanc lands the empty netter, final score Morrisburg Lions 7, St. Isidore Eagles 5.
Morrisburg out shot the Eagles 35-33. Lions goalie Drew Nichol gets his first win of the season. Jeremy DePonte had three assists.
The Lions host the Gatineau Hull-Volant at the Morrisburg arena October 22nd.
