Jean St. Denis

A lifetime resident of the area, Jean St. Denis passed away suddenly at home on Monday, July 4, 2016.  She was 84.

Jean was born in Chesterville on April 26, 1932, to her parents Wallace and Ruth Hartwell (nee Alguire).

Jean grew up and went to school in Chesterville.

She worked as a cook and a waitress at a restaurant in Chesterville for a couple of years until she met her husband ‘Sonny.’

From there, they bought a Seaway home and moved it to the Church Road, where she raised their eight children.

Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it was having a party on Saturday nights with her sisters and in laws or Sunday dinners with her children.

Jean spent 13 years taking care of her husband Sonny after he had a stroke.

After her husband passed away, she enjoyed going to the Park Villa in Williamsburg for day outings, shopping trips and traveling.

Jean also looked forward to the summer so that she could plant flowers and a vegetable garden.

The most important thing in Jean’s life was her family, which she looked forward to visiting with on Sundays.

Jean is survived by her children Alfred (Leslie) of Morrisburg, Carol Campbell of Morrisburg, John (Linda) of Williamsburg, Suzanne Hebert (Art) of Chesterville, Ron of Morrisburg, Laura Casselman of  Ingleside and Lisa (Bill) of Morrisburg, his siblings Margaret Sullivan of Morrisburg, Shirley Casselman (Gordon) of Newington, Frances Liscumb of Chesterville and Lois Picard of Finch.
