A former resident of Morrisburg, Margherita Irene Baker passed away peacefully at the Meadows of Dorchester, Niagara Falls, on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. She was in her 98th year.
Margherita was the beloved wife of the late Carson Baker (2005).
She was dear mother of Mary (late Robert) Corfield of Niagara Falls, Walter of Morrisburg and Muriel (Michael) Fournier of Amherstview.
She was loving grandmother of Shawn (Sarah), Andrew (Jules Green) Fournier of Amherstview, Alex (Amye) of Cochrane, AB, Steven Baker of Calgary, AB, and John (Karen) Keeler of Iroquois and cherished great-grandmother of Ayden, Lorelei, Jason, Tiffany, Kaleigh, Keira and Hannah.
Margherita was dear sister of Joe (Anne) DelDegan of Hamilton and sister-in-law of Lillian Sypes of Thorold.
She was predeceased by her son John, granddaughter Steacy Fournier, sisters-in-law Sybil Smith, Evelyn Millward, Gladys Duval and brothers-in-law Stanley, Russell, Kenneth, Walter, George and Earl Baker.
Friends were received at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls on Thursday, May 19 from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service.
Family and friends were also received at the Parker Funeral Home, Morrisburg, on Saturday, May 21 from noon until 1 p.m. when a Legion Ladies Auxiliary Service was held in the chapel.
Inurnment was at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Morrisburg.
