Five skaters, Trina Dykstra MacPherson, Alexis Engwerda, Kristy VanHoof, Cameryn Broad and Lilly Napier represented the local club at the event, and when the final reports had been tabulated two of the five won gold medals.

Both skaters had good skates, said Morrisburg Figure Skate Club president Julie Van Hoof.

For Alexis her skate was a personal best, despite falling on one of her jumps.

Kristyn also indicated she didn’t skate clean, also falling on a jump.

Trina Dykstra MacPherson “landed everything” but didn’t skate as well as she had hoped.

Skating at the Pre-Novice Level her Pre-Novice Combined report put her in 12th overall.

Trina,. who skates a two minute short and a three minute long program, said it was a tough compeition for everyone.

Skating in the Star 5 category, Cameryn Broad picked up a fifth place finish with her 2.5 minute program. Broad said her jumps were okay, but she was not good on her spins.

Also having a good competition was the youngest member of the club team, Lilly Napier. A good skate in the Star 2 category gave Napier a Bronze ribbon finish.

On the ice for most of the summer, Dykstra-MacPherson, VanHoof and Lilly Napier competed in the Minto Summer Skate July 3–August 2.

Napier had a Bronze skate at the Star 2 level, VanHoof posted a third in Senior Bronze, and Dykstra-MacPherson was 13th in her long program and 16th in her short.
